Please apply for a department and course that is related to your specialization. Students who will apply to a course at the Faculty of Manga, for which few comparable programs exist at higher education institutions outside of Japan, must demonstrate in their portfolio that they possess the minimum technical ability required for the exchange.

Nomination
Before applying, you must have received an email notification from Kyoto Seika via your university’s exchange coordinator that confirms your nomination as an exchange student candidate following the internal screening. Please contact the exchange coordinator at your university regarding the application guidelines for internal screening.

How to apply
Once you have confirmed your nomination, please proceed with the following application procedures:
1) Download the designated application form and fill in the required information.
2) Obtain and scan copies of all other documents required for the application.
3) Submit 1) and 2) above as email attachments to the Office for Global Initiatives at the following email address:

4) Copy of Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Certificate of Result and Scores
Because lectures at the Department of Humanities are conducted in Japanese, exchange students studying here are required to have a Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or higher.

Selection
Your application documents will be forwarded to the academic faculty in charge of the course you would like to join, who will make a decision on your exchange. You will be notified via email of the result of your application by Kyoto Seika’s exchange coordinator approximately one month after the application deadline. If your application is successful, you will also be sent an acceptance package in preparation for your study at Kyoto Seika along with the notification email.
