有志が企画する、洋画コース卒業生 関口正浩さんの個展「“桜でんぶ”へのカウンター」が開催

本展は関⼝正浩(1984-2022)の、初個展(2009)から最後の個展(2018)にいたる、およそ10 年間に制作された作品のなかから、その画業の特徴がよく現れている作品を選んで展⽰するものです。基本的に関⼝の絵画は、シリコン板に油絵具を塗り、それらを⽣乾きの状態で剥がすことで⽣まれる⽪膜をキャンバスに貼り付けるという⽅法で作られています。絵具の膜による絵画は、絵画の前提（重⼒、矩形、図と地、⼈間）を揺さぶるものでした。

 

作家が残した初期の制作メモには、⽪膜の⼿触りや艶の詳細な記録や、⾃作の⾊に付けた名前など（本展のタイトルはここから取りました）が記されています。メモはまた、独⾃の体系のもとで経験を積んだ作家が、巨⼤な⽪膜を扱えるまでになった過程も教えてくれます。関⼝は、筆を使わず「仲介をより減らし、作家より遠くで起こる絵」を追求していました。

This exhibition presents a selection of works created by Masahiro Sekiguchi (1984-2022)over the past 10 years, from his first soloexhibition (2009) to his last (2018).Basically, Sekiguchi's paintings are made by applying oil paints on silicone boards and peeling them off when they are freshly dried,thus creating a film that is attached to the canvas. Painting with a film of paint has shaken the assumptions of painting (gravity,rectangle, figure and ground, and beholder).

The artist's early production notes include a detailed record of the texture and sheen of the film, as well as the names he gave to the colors in his work (hence the title of this exhibition). The notes also tell us how the artist, having gained experience under his own system, came to be able to work with huge films. Sekiguchi pursued "painting that occurs at a greater distance than the artist,with less intermediary work," without the useof a brush.We invite you to view this audacious and

tense group of works with a discernible distance between the artist and the artwork.
